Today, Russia and Uzbekistan signed a declaration on a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
According to Sputnik, the presidents of the two countries, Vladimir Putin and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, signed the declaration after negotiations between them on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, which is currently being held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
It is noteworthy that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is an international organization established in 2001 and its members include India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Pakistan and Uzbekistan, in addition to observer countries such as Afghanistan, Belarus, Iran, Mongolia and partner countries such as Azerbaijan, Armenia, Cambodia, Nepal, Turkey and Sri Lanka.
