Russia condemned Britain's use of the death of Queen Elizabeth II for geopolitical purposes and settling accounts with her, indicating that this behavior is immoral.
“The British Foreign Office informed the Russian embassy in London of the decision to refrain from sending invitations to the Russian side for mourning ceremonies for the death of Queen Elizabeth II, and the British attributed this step to Russia’s ongoing special military operation in Ukraine,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement today.
"We consider this British attempt to use a national tragedy for geopolitical purposes to settle scores with our country during the days of mourning as highly immoral," the statement added.
Yesterday, the Russian Foreign Ministry added 30 British officials to the list of response sanctions from promoters of anti-Russian ideology and representatives of the British arms lobby.
