The police said that the body of the deceased was buried 30 cm underground and covered with a layer of cement and sand. After a preliminary examination by the forensic doctor, his head and hands were bound with tape, and his heart was stabbed by a hard object. It is estimated that he died for 8 to 10 days. The police have yet to find the murder weapon, pending further tests.

New Territories North Region Senior Superintendent of Police (Criminal) Chen Jiangming said that the police received a report from the wife of the 51-year-old male victim on September 5, saying that the husband lost contact after leaving the apartment for dinner in the afternoon, and she received a phone call from an unknown source in the evening. He claimed that his husband was in the hands of the other party and asked to repay the debt of 3.6 million yuan.

The victim's wife called the police on the same night after contacting her husband several times to no avail.

After investigation by the New Territories North Police District Serious Crime Unit, after several days of investigation, it is believed that the male victim has been killed. The police arrested two men surnamed Chen, aged 64 and 29, respectively, at Luen Wo Hui, Fanling yesterday (14th) morning. After the location where the governor was killed, the body of the male victim was found about 30 meters outside the grass on the mountainside of Guandi Temple (formerly known as Dawangye Temple) on Pingyuan Road, Daguling this morning.

Chen Jiangming pointed out that the male deceased was found buried in the grass outside the Guandi Temple, about 30 centimeters underground, covered with a layer of cement and sand. He died on the 8th to 10th day. The cause of death is subject to further tests. The police have not yet found the murder weapon.

Police do not rule out adding extortion charges

The police investigation also believes that in the afternoon of the day the victim disappeared, he boarded the vehicle of one of the arrested persons and left.

The police believe that the deceased was brought to the above address for negotiation on the same day due to debt problems, during which he was attacked with sharp objects and buried at the above address. After the incident, someone used this to extort money from the deceased's family.

The two arrested are being detained and will be charged with murder. They will appear in the Fanling Court tomorrow (16th). The police do not rule out adding extortion charges to the two later.

As for whether other people are involved in the case, the type and amount of debt are also the direction of the police investigation, and further action cannot be ruled out.

The two arrested reported that they were unemployed and had a relationship with the villagers. One of the arrested persons was a friend of the deceased. In addition, there was no information to show that the deceased was kidnapped before his death. There was no use of force, and some of the debts involved were gambling debts.

When asked if the police had immediately investigated and taken action after receiving the report, Chen Jiangming pointed out that the police had dealt with it on the same day when the report was received from the wife of the deceased. Villagers conduct a questionnaire survey.

The male suspect was escorted back to a restaurant in Luen Wo Market, Fanling in the afternoon, and the case was reorganized.
