A baby cat was given up in Düsseldorf because he was too sick and ugly for the breeder.

The shelter took in little “Faouzi”.

Düsseldorf – A really sad story has just happened in an animal shelter in Düsseldorf.

There, a breeder wanted to give up a baby cat - because he was too sick and ugly for him!

And then the man even threatened to simply abandon the sick animal, as animal shelter manager Timo Franzen reports to 24RHEIN.

Dusseldorf: hangover handed over completely disheveled – "You can't sell it anyway"

Why did the breeder want to get rid of the tomcat?

Timo Franzen on 24RHEIN: "He didn't feel like going to the doctor." When the breeder gave the cat away, he doubted that anyone else would want the animal: "You can't sell him anyway," he is said to have said.

The animal shelter is stunned.

According to a Facebook post from the animal shelter, cats that have defects are treated as B-stock in breeding.

The ailing Persian cat, affectionately christened "Faouzi," which means "victor" in Arabic, had cat flu and ear mites when he was brought to the shelter.

Düsseldorf: Animal shelter keeper convinced that "Faouzi" will make it

The baby cat is currently in the private care of an animal keeper at the animal shelter.

The staff are convinced that "Faouzi" will make it and find a nice home: "Because Faouzi, his keeper and all the shelter employees are determined that Faouzi will overcome the cat flu and get rid of annoying ear mites and then in a few weeks to be able to move in as a proud and handsome young cat with people who appreciate the value of an animal and not just reduce it to the price," the shelter continued.

As early as August, a starving, sick baby cat was handed over to an animal shelter in Bergheim.

It had to go to the veterinary clinic with blue lights flashing.
