Balad chairman and MK Sami Abu Shahada said today (Friday) that his former partners in the joint list Ayman Odeh and Ahmed Tibi "prefer to eliminate Balad at this stage" in order to enter the bloc led by Prime Minister Yair Lapid.
He also claimed that there was a political decision behind the dissolution of the joint list.
On the other hand, Hadash chairman Ayman Odeh did not rule out recommending Lapid or Gantz for prime ministership.
We will recall that yesterday the Balad faction decided to withdraw from the list and run alone in the upcoming elections, despite the initial agreement between the Arab factions. Out of the list, which in the last Knesset consisted of Hadash, Ta'al and Balad - now only Ta'al and Hadash remain.
Mansor Abbas's Prime Minister ran separately in the last elections, while now Balad will also try its luck.
