A hairdresser from Reichersbeuern was at Berlin Fashion Week and prepared models for Marc Cain's catwalk show.

Jennifer Schieg has dreamed of this for a long time.

– Working once in a lifetime at the “Berlin Fashion Week” (Berlin fashion week).

The dream of many stylists, hairdressers and make-up artists recently came true for Jennifer Schieg from Reichersbeuern.

Schieg is certainly known to the customers of “Hair by Lederer” in Bad Tölz.

After all, the 39-year-old has been working there for 18 years.

"I've been there since Martina Lederer opened the salon," she says in an interview with our newspaper.

At the twice-yearly fashion week in the capital, the new seasonal collections from various brands and designers are presented to a specialist audience and the general public.

A lot of experience in cutting, styling, blow-drying and coloring as well as the cooperation between Lederers Salon and the hair product brand "La Biosthétique" have brought the hairstylist to her engagement at the international fashion week.

A creative team from “La Biosthétique” – including Jennifer Schieg – had to prepare numerous models for the presentation of the new spring and summer collection for the catwalk for designer Marc Cain.

There were strict requirements: On the first day, the instructions came from the team's two creative directors, Alexander Dinter and Steffen Zoll.

"They showed us what the models' hair should look like, what alternative solutions there are for models with extra long hair and what products are available to us," explains Schieg.

There was no room for your own ideas or creativity, "after all, everyone should have a uniform look that goes with the collection," explains the hairdresser, adding: "It was still an incredibly great experience." Schieg always wanted to go to the Berliner Get involved in fashion weeks - "and it really paid off."

In general, she imagined the sound to be much rougher and everything a little more hectic than it was in reality.

"Well, it's stressful, every second counts, and everyone is working very hard," she reports.

Nevertheless: “Everyone was on an equal footing with everyone else.

Despite the stress, it was a pleasant working atmosphere.

I was like in a tunnel.”

Big industry get-together at Berlin Fashion Week

After the briefing, everyone was able to practice the elaborate blow-dry hairstyle on a model's head, so that every move is perfect on the day of the show.

“I then prepared two models for the catwalk backstage.

Both had roughly the same hair length, which was very practical.” It was also a great advantage that Schieg also worked with “La Biosthétique” products in the Tölz salon.

"If you use too much or too little, you can mess up your whole hairdo.

It all has to be dosed very precisely," says the Reichersbeuerin,

All in all, it was an exciting and enriching experience.

“By the way, it’s also a big industry get-together there.

There were a few star hairdressers from all over Germany and I met a lot of interesting people – great for networking,” enthuses Schieg.

Will it remain a one-time experience?

"I hope not.

If you asked me again, I would be there again straight away,” she says with conviction.

“It would be nice if I could establish myself there.

That would be a welcome change from my everyday life here in Bad Tölz.”
