"Big Brother" and "The Next Star" will this week grow two more winners of the strangest status of all

Reality TV has been broadcast here for 20 years.

The genre is already burned so strongly in the pantheon of Israeli culture that the prevailing social convention is that winning a reality show is a great achievement, a victory that symbolizes success and prosperity.

Parents wish that their children will win a reality show and get a picture in the newspaper, celebrity discounts, Instagram followers and official confirmation that they are loved, talented.

Wieners.

This week the finals of "Big Brother" and "The Next Star" will be broadcast, and they will grow two new reality winners who will join an endless list of winners.

After they wash off the rest of the confetti, they will start shuffling between launches, close the campaign, take pictures for the gates and videos of congratulations and best wishes, say "Hey, Guy" in a flattering voice, and poof - the 15 minutes of fame will end, and the trouble will begin.

At a glance, one might think that the reality TV champions are doing well in life.

Tiltil presents programs, Yuval Shamla got a job as a commentator in the next season of the Ninja, Eliraz Sade films a family reality show.

Ninet Taib, Neta Barzilai and Anna Aronov have turned from respected winners to judges who determine destinies.

Sounds good, doesn't it?

But winning reality TV is a different style.

This is a title that will be carried with them for better or for worse - in successes, scandals and crises.

We will always remember that Tom Aviv took "Master Chef".

But MK Dodi Amsalem also won the "Master Chef VIP" season, and Oren Hazan won "The Big Brother" and even Tal Gilboa. And Kobi Marimi in "The Next Star". What exactly is the status? It's not clear.

And the money doesn't always glitter either.

Stop handing out apartments to the winners, because there is a housing crisis and everything is expensive?

So the participants of "The Brother" and "The Star" are dazzled with a prize of one million shekels, but as we know - 35% of the amount will be set aside as taxes for the receiving country, and the check will be offset to 650 thousand.

Winning in reality is a lie.

The winners of "VIP Winning Couple", Israel and Jacky Azoulay or Danit and Eliav, separated and divorced after winning.

Because the first place is mandatory, and all eyes are on the winners of the reality show.

As a result, some of them experience anxiety attacks, struggle with the effects of advertising and are drawn into mental turmoil.

The reality show winners miss fame, and it's hard for them to refuse another round.

But when they come back, it doesn't work like the first time.

Israel Oglebo destroyed the "Brotherhood" win with a horror performance in "Survival".

Oren Asido ("Chef Games") tried to make a hit on "Big Brother" and failed.

Naama Kesari did not repeat a victory in "Survival" even for the second time, just like Shai and Shani in "The Race for a Million", Jackie Menachem in "The Brother" or Sapir Saban, who after winning in "The Voice" lost in "The X Factor for Eurovision".

So you don't always have to aim only for the first place.

Marina Maximilian, Lee Byrne, Idan Amadi, Nofer Salman, Margie and Ella Lee - won second place.

And Leah Griner in "Big Brother"?

second place.

Harel Sekat lost to Moyel in the finals of "A Star is Born", and a foreign worker from the Philippines, Rose Postance, overtook Aden Ben-Zakan in the finals of "X Factor".

Could it be that sometimes the second place is better?
