The three participating clubs from Miesbach had to wait two and a half years for this performance: On Sunday, the Munich Wiesn traditionally opens with the traditional costume and riflemen's procession.

The traditional costume association, the music association and the Haberer from the district town are also there.

The parade on the first Sunday of the Wiesn is considered one of the largest and most beautiful in the world and offers a lot of Bavarian tradition.

In memory of the procession for the silver wedding anniversary of King Ludwig I and Therese of Bavaria in 1835, entering the Wiesn is simply part of it.

9000 participants are there this time, as well as millions of spectators on the streets and on TV sets.

The people of Miesbach are correspondingly proud to be able to take part in this Wiesn.

They had to wait long enough for their performance.

"Actually, we would have been there in 2020," reports Klaus Beer, Chairman of the Trachtler.

But because the Wiesn had to be canceled twice due to corona, participation was postponed to 2022. This also applies to the Haberer and the Musikzug, which were deliberately registered at the same time as last time in 2010 - a question of logistics.

The Haberer are represented with a wagon including a Habererstadl, and the Trachtler wanted to come with two chest wagons - the old and the new one.

The fact that the old car is not used after all is due to the team, since a second one was not available.

Nevertheless, there is a lot to transport.

!80 participants from the county seat

Because the Miesbachers are very strong in terms of personnel.

The group consists of around 180 people.

The music club is there with around 30 people, 25 are from the Haber family – the rest are made up of people wearing traditional costumes, with members of the sponsoring clubs from Hausham and Gotzing also joining in.

After the seven-kilometre walk to the festival grounds, there will be celebrations in Hacker-Pschorr's tent.

The start is in Widenmayerstraße on the Isar.

"With our beards we are unique"

It is the third participation for the Haberer company, which was founded in 1963, reports Deputy Chairman Franz Mayer.

As a historic club, they should be out of the ordinary – especially visually.

“We are unique with our beards,” emphasizes Mayer.

"In addition, there are our bells and ratchets." The Haberers will certainly attract attention from the background noise alone.

"An honor to be there"

All three clubs have one thing in common: the anticipation of the parade.

"It's an honor to be able to take part," says Mayer.

And Sepp Brugger, chairman of the Musikverein, is certain: "It's just nice to be able to walk through Munich like that.

Everyone is looking forward to that.

A great experience.” The pageant in the state capital is a premiere for him.

The musical repertoire is "loud marches", says Brugger - among them "Mein Heimatland", "Kaiserjäger" and the "Bozner Bergsteigermarsch".

For the television viewers who want to see the Miesbach delegation, it means waiting a little.

Because the representatives from the Oberland only start as number 33 - first with the music, then the Trachtler and finally the Haberer.

A total of 60 different groups are planned.

The costume and riflemen's procession will be broadcast live from 10 a.m. on ARD.

Bavarian television reports in the evening from 7.45 p.m.

The Miesbach Trachtler

go to the Oktoberfest on Sunday.

Bus 1 is ready at 7 a.m. at Miesbach train station (departure 7.15 a.m.) to Habererplatz, where three more buses are parked and offer boarding options.

Please be on time: all buses leave at 7.30 a.m.

The return journey takes place with two buses at 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Please note: do not take knives with you!
