Lufthansa is also introducing more and more additional fees for various services.
Even business class customers might not be exempt from this in the future.
Although a lot has been going haywire at Lufthansa in recent weeks due to strikes and flight cancellations, the airline can be happy about good business at the moment.
Because the crane is growing, especially in the USA: "We're gaining market share there and selling at prices that we don't otherwise know," said CEO Carsten Spohr, according to
Bild
.
The situation is different in Germany: Here the boss expects losses due to inflation.
For customers, this could mean that there will soon be even more additional fees for various services.

Lufthansa is raising prices
Lufthansa has a monopoly on most domestic German routes.
Because of this, the company doesn't rely on low ticket prices to keep up with the competition.
In addition, Spohr refers to the increased kerosene prices.
Therefore, the airline has already raised a few new additional fees this year, such as the

reported.
For example, if you only fly in the Economy Light fare, you have to pay a surcharge of five to 25 euros to be able to select a special seat.
Otherwise you will be assigned a seat automatically.
Even frequent flyers and regular customers now have to pay more if they want a seat of their choice.
Eurowings has also found the free middle seat for an additional ten euros, provided this is available.
According to the

, this additional service is now also available at Lufthansa.

Additional fees for services are also possible with business class
With low-cost airlines, it has long been common practice to charge more money for additional services.
Lufthansa could also increasingly rely on the modular principle, as the online portal
Reisetopia
suspects, where passengers put their flight experience together themselves.
On various forums, there is talk that implementation is not far off.
Even business class customers should not be immune to additional costs: "We are considering whether we will take surcharges for certain seats in our new business class from summer 2023," said a Lufthansa manager of the

Passengers can then secure more legroom or a window seat with aisle access for a fee.
However, the decision has not yet been officially made.
