The governor of the Russian Belgorod Province, Vyacheslav Gladkov, announced that at least one person was killed and two wounded in the bombing of the city of Valoiki by the Ukrainian armed forces.
"Ukrainian armed forces bombed Valoiki in the Russian Belgorod region and the air defense systems responded... According to preliminary information, a civilian was killed and two were wounded," TASS news agency quoted Gladkov as saying on his Telegram channel.
He added that a sub-electricity station was damaged as a result of the attack, which led to a power outage for the residents. Eight houses and three cars in the city, which has a population of about 30,000 people, caught fire as a result of the bombing.
