The refinery PCK in Schwedt considers restrictions in the supply of crude oil to be conceivable after the trust administration for the majority owner Rosneft Germany.

But she is sticking to the goal of safe supply.

"We are preparing for possible short-term restrictions in the Druzhba crude oil supply," the refinery said on Friday.

PCK pointed out that part of the crude oil supply is already being supplied via Rostock.

Schwedt/Oder - The company emphasized: "Our focus remains the safe and reliable refinery operation and the supply of the region with mobility and heat." PCK explained that the trusteeship for Rosneft Germany does not mean that PCK is placed under trusteeship.

The federal government has placed the majority owners of the PCK refinery, Rosneft Germany (RDG) and RN Refining & Marketing GmbH, under the control of the Federal Network Agency to ensure operations.

The background is the oil embargo against Russia from the beginning of 2023 because of the Ukraine war.

The refinery in north-eastern Brandenburg is supplied with Russian oil via the "Druschba" pipeline.

According to earlier information from the Federal Ministry of Economics, the majority owner has little interest in turning away from Russian oil.

PCK has around 1,200 employees and supplies large parts of north-eastern Germany with fuel.

According to PCK, 90 percent of the cars in Berlin and Brandenburg run on fuel from Schwedt.
