The network is happy.

Wörth am Main – The first day of school was a few days ago.

For many children in Bavaria it was the first day of school ever - and the excitement was correspondingly high.

On Wednesday, September 14th, the first normal day at school followed – after the special first day on Tuesday – and for two boys from Wörth am Main, district of Miltenberg, also the first independent way home.

But it was raining heavily and they decided to get on the bus.

Unfortunately it was the wrong one.

First graders are on the wrong bus - police bring the boys home

The Lower Franconia police reported on the case on Facebook.

The two children probably got on the bus after school because of the heavy rain – but it went in the wrong direction from their point of view.

Fortunately, the attentive bus driver noticed the boys' predicament - and stopped by a police patrol who were monitoring the way to school.

Officials quickly found out where the children lived.

“We drove them home in the patrol car without further ado,” it says on Facebook.

The parents of the two boys were very surprised by the unexpected taxi service, as the police put it – and happy to be able to hug them again.

The police post a photo of what happened on Facebook – and received a lot of praise

The story was then posted on the official Facebook account of the Lower Franconia police – including a photo.

The users then showered the officials with praise.

"You are just heroes!

Thank you for being there,” writes one user, for example.

The post has now garnered over 1,000 likes and hearts.

However, it is also important for many users to mention the attention of the bus driver.

The police agree: "The bus driver reacted really well," they replied to such a comment.

They wrote further down: “The praise also goes to the bus driver in particular.

Thanks for the kind words."

The two boys will probably not forget this first real day of school in a hurry - and due to the ride in the police car, the morning at school was certainly not the only exciting thing they experienced that day.
