Affordable living space is to be built on Friedrich-Ebert-Strasse in Bruck and the parallel Schlesierstrasse.

Fürstenfeldbruck - Twelve apartments will be built on two plots of land in the district.

These are being built by the district housing association (WBG), which reported on the current status of the project at a press conference on Thursday.

A total of 1460 square meters with 700 square meters of living space is to be built by 2024.

"The apartments will each be 40 to 70 square meters in size," said project manager Regina Faber.

Friedrich-Ebert-17: Who is moving in?

Who will move in there was also a topic at the public participation in July.

The housing association had invited neighbors and residents to a citizens' café to provide information about the project and to answer questions.

“The district has access rights.

So employees of the district will move in," said Christoph Maier, Managing Director of the WBG.

However, there is a clause that would allow other tenants to move in.

The project, a non-profit residential building, always aims to create a social mix, explained WBG Managing Director Maier.

"That's why the Viennese input was important to us."

Architects from Vienna make the plan

The WBG managing director is referring to the Viennese architects Ursina and Norbert Thaler, who brought the WBG on board for the project.

In Vienna, according to Maier, it is common in the districts for the social structure to be strengthened when housing is allocated.

They also want to do that in Fürstenfeldbruck.

When designing the two buildings, care was always taken to ensure that they fit into the local environment, said Norbert Thaler.

"It is a pure timber construction." This is important solely from the ecological point of view.

A vertical house facade will later extend over the first and second floors.

A trellis is erected at the base.

"This gives the buildings a green footing," said Thaler.

The unsealed green space is to be made available to residents.

There should be a continuous green area on the border between the two plots of land.

"This allows neighbors to go from one to the other," said Ursina Thaler.

Passers-by could also take a shortcut from Schlesierstrasse to Friedrich-Ebert-Strasse via the property or vice versa.

In addition to the residential buildings, there should be a communal laundry room and a shared workshop.

“Here, residents can help each other if something breaks.

Then you don't always have to buy something new right away," said Norbert Thaler.

That, too, is entirely in line with social issues and sustainability.

groundbreaking later this year

According to the WBG managing director, the project costs would amount to 3.6 million euros.

The ground-breaking ceremony for the project in the north-east of Brucker should take place this year, said Maier.

The first earthworks are scheduled to begin in spring 2023.

The first tenants are expected to move in in 2024.

The building application is currently with the city and awaiting approval.

Maier does not believe that there are delays due to bottlenecks.

As an intermunicipal society, we are well networked and in contact with local companies.
