Hama, SANA- The competitions of the Republic Karate Championship were concluded on the grounds of the Martyr Nasih Alwani Sports Hall in Hama.

On the grounds of the Martyr Nasih Alwani Sports Hall in Hama, the Republic Championship Karate competitions for the age groups under 8, 10 and 12 years for males and females were concluded with the participation of 17 teams representing clubs, sports houses and independent sports bodies practicing the game.

The results of the under 8 years category resulted in the Sheikh Badr Club winning first place with two golds, two silvers and one bronze. Al-Taleea Club came second with one gold and two silvers, while Baniyas Refinery Club came third with one gold, one silver and two bronzes.

In the under 10 years category, Tal El Fakhar Club from Quneitra won first place with three golds and the same bronze. The Central Army Club came second with two golds and four silvers, while Umayya Club came third with gold, silver and bronze.

As for the under 12 years category, the Central Army Club won the title with five golds, four silvers and a bronze. The Aleppo Police came second with five golds, three silvers and four bronzes, while Homs Police Club came third with three golds and two bronzes.

The head of the Karate Federation, Jihad Mia, told SANA reporter that the tournament comes within the federation’s plan to intensify local tournaments with the aim of increasing the spread of the game and discovering and refining new talents that were of good quality in its various categories, noting that the tournament witnessed the holding of U8 competitions for the first time in this year’s tournaments with the aim of expanding The base of the game by attracting male and female players of young ages.

In turn, the head of the Executive Committee of the Hama Sports Federation branch, Abdul Razzaq Zaitoun, indicated that the governorate hosted the second championship of the Republic in the karate game in less than two months, with the aim of increasing the spread of the game among clubs and developing the skills of its players and players by securing competition and friction with the champions of other governorates, indicating that Hama participated In the current championship, there are three clubs, Al-Talia, Hama workers and Salamiyah, which achieved remarkable results.

In turn, the Chairman of the Higher Competitions Committee in the Karate Federation, Ali Issa, praised the good organization and public attendance in the tournament, which gave it a distinct flavor, pointing out that the tournament constituted an appropriate opportunity for the Game Federation to meet with the administrative cadres, coaches and the specialized committees in the federation in order to discuss ways to develop the game for the better.
