Two Latina nurses and the driver of their car died Monday during a Jeep excursion in Colorado when the vehicle fell off a cliff, authorities said.

, her aunt
Ofelia Figueroa-Perez, 60,
and the driver,
Don Fehd, 72,
were killed when the 2022 Jeep Gladiator swerved off the shoulder of Ouray County Highway 361 and fell hundreds of feet, as reported by The New York Post.
The two women lived in Arizona and were visiting that alpine area of Colorado between the San Juan Mountains and known as the Switzerland of the United States.
Robles worked at Yuma Regional Hospital, the Montrose Daily Press reported.

The car plunged 100 feet to the bottom of a cliff and then rolled about 140 feet down a rocky embankment, ejecting the driver, according to police.
The bodies of the two tourists were found in the car, which was overturned on the bank of a stream.
A companion of Robles was waiting for him to call her to tell her about his trip, according to local authorities.
But seeing that she did not receive any calls, she became concerned and, after seeing a post on social networks about the accident, he began making calls until he confirmed the terrible news.

"It's a tragic event," Sgt. Justin Hice of the Colorado State Patrol said Tuesday.
The official cause of death for all three victims is pending autopsies, and authorities are still investigating why the Jeep left the roadside.
It is the second fatal accident in the area in just one week.
