The adult education center Peißenberg is preparing to "work in the new normality," said its director Mechthild Merz when presenting the program for the winter semester.
Peißenberg – After the Corona turbulence in the teaching system, there will be more face-to-face courses again, “of course in compliance with the current hygiene regulations”.
According to Merz, the course participants want the classic lessons on site.
When it comes to lectures, things are a little different.
With these, the online offer is being booked more and more frequently.
The program for the winter semester, for which you can register now, includes around 200 face-to-face courses and 55 online courses – 90 of which are new this year.
The main topic is “Consumer education – learning for life”.
Courses are offered "on all the topics that consumers are concerned with today," says Merz.
This includes not only investing in stocks and the choice of pension insurance, but also climate-friendly living, plastic-free living and the technology of electric vehicles.
Using the internet is also becoming increasingly important.
"My digital trace on the Internet" provides information on how to protect your personal information.
Languages, which, according to Merz, are mostly learned out of private interest, take up a lot of space again.
English is in the lead, Italian and French are also in high demand.
There is a “French evening” for everyone interested in the partnership with Saint Brevin-les-Pins.
Merz points out that in language courses it is important to correctly assess the language skills that are already available in order to choose the appropriate level.
Placement tests can be found at "vhseinstufungstest.de".
According to Merz, the VHS Peißenberg wants to reach all age groups with its offer.
It starts with "fairytale qigong" for four-year-olds and extends to "eating against forgetting", which deals with dementia.
According to Merz, there are “relatively few young people” up to the age of 45 among the course participants.
On the other hand, the over 60-year-olds make up almost 40 percent of the participants, and the middle age group around a third.
The program booklet is included in the home newspaper on September 17 and is also available from the usual display points from that day.
Further information about the program is available on the websites "vhs.peissenberg.de" and "vhs-pfaffenwinkel.de".
