The virologist Hendrik Streeck does not want to be vaccinated against Corona a fourth time, although there are now vaccines adapted to Omikron.
Berlin – Autumn is coming and concern about a new corona wave is increasing.
Another vaccination could be the solution for some to protect themselves better.
Only on Monday did the European Commission approve another vaccine from the manufacturers Biontech and Pfizer, which is adapted to the Omicron sub-lines BA.4 and BA.5.
The vaccination is recommended for people aged 12 and over as a booster, according to the EU medicines authority EMA.

A new vaccine adapted to variant BA.1 was also recently approved.
Health Minister Karl Lauterbach expects the corona vaccinations to start quickly with the new preparation.
However, the Bonn virologist Hendrik Streeck does not want to be vaccinated against Corona for the fourth time in the short term.
"I will not be vaccinated against Corona again this fall because I have now been vaccinated three times and was infected once in the summer," said Streeck of the

His immune responses are “strong enough”.
The infection acts like an “additional booster”.
Streeck cannot be vaccinated again against Corona: Fourth vaccination is only recommended for risk groups
The virologist emphasized: "A fourth vaccination would not be necessary for me if I had not had an infection, even if the number of infections should rise sharply again in autumn and winter." He also justified his personal decision with the recommendation of the Standing Vaccination Commission: " The three vaccinations provide excellent protection against a severe course in healthy people under the age of 60.” A fourth vaccination is only recommended by the Standing Vaccination Commission for risk groups and people over 60 years of age.
Streeck also works in the Federal Government’s Corona Expert Council.
At the beginning of September, he had already warned against too high expectations of new, adapted omicron vaccines.
"You have to say very clearly: The use of the adapted vaccine is not necessary for everyone," Streeck said in a dpa interview.
