Latakia-SANA

The exhibition of modeling and simulation projects for children and adolescents, which was organized by the branch of the Syrian Scientific Informatics Society in Latakia, included 11 projects in the form of computer simulation models to address various scientific, mathematical, medical, planning, physical, engineering and artificial intelligence issues.

The director of the Society’s branch, Engineer Maryam Fayoud, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the exhibition is gaining scientific importance because the entrepreneurs are of young age groups, but their minds are promising and promising, and its output gives hope for the future thanks to their creative abilities in employing scientific research techniques and computer mathematical modeling tools to find solutions to life societal problems and creativity. View these solutions.

Fayoud pointed out that education and optimum empowerment of various science technologies constitute a real lever for the country's economy, and this is what is being worked on in the field of informatics sciences through many different means followed by the association, one of which is the scientific clubs that have been opened in the Latakia branch since 2017, stressing that the association will continue its activity on different levels and provide everything necessary to contribute to the establishment of a generation capable of receiving modern science, participating in it and contributing to its development.

In turn, Director of Lattakia Education Omran Abu Khalil stressed the importance of partnership between the Directorate of Education and the Syrian Information Society and the promising fruits it produces and can be sought through students’ participation in international competitions and the outstanding results they achieve despite their young age, which heralds a prosperous future for them, pointing to the introduction of robotic sciences to the schools of outstanding students. Thus, there will be more partnership and cooperation agreements between the two parties.

The scientific supervisor of modeling and simulation at the branch of the Syrian Scientific Society for Informatics in Latakia, Dr. Muhammad Khair Muhammad, expressed his pride in the achievements of his students and saw in the exhibition the culmination of the club’s work and efforts made throughout the year, with all its courses, activities, workshops, lectures and competitions, as the projects presented present ideas derived from Reality and simulate medical issues

economic, planning, engineering and artificial intelligence, pointing out that the trainees were subjected to intensive training workshops that ended with uncomplicated computer models, but they are accurate and very elaborate.

Supervising coach Citrida Al-Sheikh indicated that the students trained over a period of two months through a program that draws simulations, analyzes sports programs and shows the results.

The 15-year-old student, Hassan Qazzazo, talked about his participation, which is a simulation model for managing water dams, which won first place in the National Olympiad for Mathematical Modeling, which was set up by the Excellence and Creativity Commission this year, in which he studies the relationship between the Tishreen Dam and the Euphrates, the amount of water in the dams, the amount of electricity that can be generated, and the requirements of Irrigation and drinking and the high water level in them, while the student Yasmine Alila explained the idea of her project, which is based on simulating the spread of a malignant tumor and clarifying the mechanism of its spread during a certain period of time to determine a treatment protocol for the patient and the chemical dose that must be provided to him to limit the spread of the tumor.

Simulation of the phenomenon of general blackout, which analyzes the increase in the load on the networks and the power outages in the stations and the access to the state of blackout was the focus of the project of the student Susan Esber, while the student Youssef Alila presented a simulation model of an artificial neural network to identify healthy and cancerous cells by encoding them with specific symbols and separating them.

Student Tim Sala participates in a simulation model of a factory that contains chemicals and people and has a fire and explains that the task is to locate people, extinguish the fire, and transport chemicals to safe places, while the idea of the student's project is based on a linear programming model to help a decision maker make the most appropriate decision to achieve the highest profit and the least time and expensive.

The 12-year-old student, Rima Kiwan, reviewed her project, which is a simulated random sample model to solve the problem of counting the number of fish in the lake to determine their food needs and adjust the vital processes and environmental media in the lake.
