As part of the awareness campaign on the dangers of mines and remnants of war, the Syrian Arab Red Crescent branch in the Hama governorate organized a race for purebred Arabian horses, with the participation of a number of horses and jockeys from different governorates, in the village of Bari Al Sharqi in the eastern countryside of Hama.

On the sidelines of the race, a number of awareness-raising paragraphs were presented, in addition to the distribution of educational brochures on how to deal with Western bodies left over from the terrorist war on Syria.

At the end of the event, cups were distributed by the Syrian Arab Red Crescent branch to the winners, in addition to a presentation of heritage paragraphs on the history of Salamiyah, which included the salmon wedding, the sword and shield show, in addition to a ballet show and other paragraphs that reflected the nobility and authenticity of Salamiyah and its countryside.

In a statement to SANA reporter, Abdul Razzaq Zaitoun, head of the Sports Federation branch in Hama, said that the event contributes to educating the people who live in the areas controlled by terrorist organizations, and before they were defeated by the Syrian Arab Army, they planted mines and explosive devices in order to harm civilians.

Zaitoun called for the continuous repetition of these initiatives, including in various sectors and activities, because sports are able to gather large crowds, such as today's event, which was attended by more than 5,000 spectators who gathered around the track.

The general coordinator of the awareness-raising event on the dangers of remnants of war in the Crescent Branch in Hama Governorate, Muhammad Darwish, indicated that the Syrian Arab Red Crescent is keen to broadcast and deliver awareness messages about the dangers of mines and remnants of war, and that organizing this activity for the Arabian horse race, which bears the number 108, comes in this context.

The winner of the first place in the race, Muhammad Zidan, said that Salamiyah is famous for breeding thoroughbred horses, and this event aims to spread awareness in order to preserve the safety and lives of civilians from the dangers of remnants of war, hoping that the message of the event has reached the people in the area in order to preserve their safety.

The winner of the second place in the race, Mohi Al-Din Al-Hayek, thanked the organizers of the event, which renewed the Syrian heritage and folklore through this race, expressing his hope to launch larger and broader activities during the coming period with the participation of various age groups and youth.
