The Gabala Dance Theater Company performed today on the stage of the Cultural Center in Baniyas, entitled “Talqi”.
Afaf Abdullah, director, founder and designer of the works of the Gabala Troupe, told SANA reporter that the theatrical performance “Talqi” is based on paintings from Syrian folklore, in addition to paintings from the modern Syrian dance heritage and paintings from other civilizations such as Indian and Spanish.
She pointed out that the idea of the show is based on the convergence of civilizations on Syrian soil in ancient stages.
For his part, Mohamed Othman, designer and trainer of the Gabala band, explained that the band presented 12 dance panels to various musical melodies, accompanied by movements specialized in each region and embodying them with artistic dance paintings on stage.
He indicated that the aim of it is to collect most of the Syrian arts that represent the ancient heritage in the language of dance despite its difficulty, similar to what a painter does to express heritage with a painting or a poet expresses with a poem.
It is noteworthy that the group was founded in 2014 and deals with all kinds of dance from folklore, modern and contemporary, and peoples dance.
