United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stressed the need to work to remove obstacles to Russian exports of food and fertilizers.
Guterres said in statements to Sputnik agency that "regarding Russian food and fertilizer exports, which we now consider a very essential tool to confront the market crisis in fertilizers, we are working hard to create conditions to remove all obstacles that still exist to these exports," expressing hope that there will be a positive change. Regarding the possibility of unhindered circulation of Russian grain and fertilizers.
Guterres indicated his intention to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly this week to discuss some issues related to foodstuffs, fertilizers and the grain export agreement, specifically issues related to Russian exports of these materials.
