Hundreds went out to demonstrate in several different events around Tehran, the capital of Iran, after the media in the country announced the death of Mahasa Amini, a young woman who was arrested and beaten by the modesty police because she violated the strict dress code in the Islamic Republic.
The outrage demonstrations began with the announcement of the young woman's death at Kasara Hospital in the capital Tehran, where political activists and the young woman's family members clashed with the police outside the building.

Videos circulated on the country's social networks showed young people blocking roads and chanting "death to the dictator", referring to Supreme Leader Khamenei, in a clear challenge to the regime and its religious laws.
The demonstrators also chanted "I will kill the one who killed my sister" and "Khomeini is a murderer - his rule is over".

The police responded by firing into the air and arresting some of the protesters.
One protester uploaded a video he took while standing to protest the hospital, whose access to it was blocked by the police and said: "They are afraid of the public. They are blocking access to the hospital. Such scoundrels."
Mahasa Amini, 22 years old and a resident of the Kurdish region in Iran, arrived last week in the capital Tehran with her family, where she was arrested by the modesty police while walking with her relative in the street.
According to her family, she was beaten during her interrogation, apparently because she resisted her arrest.
She was hospitalized when she was unconscious and the police issued a statement, without naming the young woman, according to which she suffered from a "heart attack".
