Curious case at Sparkasse Düsseldorf.
Almost a million euros have disappeared from a safe.
Now the bank is suing their insurance company.
Düsseldorf - Banking institutes are particularly frequently among the victims of criminal offences.
Because despite the high risk, there is hardly any other place where criminals can get more money.
But a case in North Rhine-Westphalia raises many puzzles.
Almost one million euros have disappeared from the vault of a branch of the Düsseldorfer Kreissparkasse - and have not been found to this day.
Düsseldorf: Almost a million disappears from the safe - district savings bank sues against insurance
This emerges from a legal dispute pending at the Düsseldorf district court, to which the court has referred (Az.: 9 O 333/21).
The district savings bank wants their insurance company to reimburse them for the missing amount, but they refuse.
The case is scheduled to appear in court on September 29.
But how can it happen that exactly 934,000 euros just disappear like that?
The money was delivered on June 26, 2019 by a value transporter in Erkrath near Düsseldorf and taken to the vault.
After a few hours, the money could no longer be found.
What happened in between remains a mystery.
Bizarre legal dispute: Kreissparkasse argues with burglary - insurance denies
While the district savings bank argues that it was a burglary and that there are corresponding traces, the defendant insurance company denies this.
The question of whether the sum must be reimbursed depends on this.
By then, the insurance company is not ready to pay the amount of damage.

Disappeared money from Kreissparkasse: Investigations against three suspects stopped
A spokeswoman for the Wuppertal public prosecutor said that three suspects had been investigated for particularly serious theft.
There had been searches and mobile phones had been evaluated.
However, the suspicion was not confirmed.
One of the suspects also had an alibi.
The investigations against the suspects were eventually dropped.
The police in Mettmann confirmed that there was an operation at the time, but no press release.
