Scientists from Russia's Tomsk University have devised a technology to turn waste into fuel.
Foil magazine said that the scientists suggested the possibility of obtaining fuel suspensions from some waste coal, wood and oil, explaining that the technique of mixing the suspension and the use of functional additives significantly affected the resulting fuel.
Ksenia Vershinina, Associate Professor at the Research Faculty of Energy Mechanism Process Physics, explained that the quality of the fuel suspension improves if the functional additive is mixed with water first, and then a solid coal component is added. It means loading the components of the entire mass at once, but this process is done gradually, because this method allows easy access to a homogeneous mixture.
