In honor of his literary career, which enriched the local and Arab cultural scene, the Arab Writers Union, Damascus Branch, in cooperation with the Directorate of Culture in Aleppo, held a memorial ceremony for the late writer Walid Ikhlasi, at the National Library in Aleppo.
The ceremony included speeches by a number of literary personalities and the late son of the late, who lit up his literary and personal life, and the presentation of a film documenting important stations from Walid Ikhlasi’s literary and intellectual career, prepared by Muhammad Hijazi, Director of the National Book House, as well as the recitation of a poetic poem in the lament of the writer entitled “A hole from the sayings.” Poet Mahmoud Al-Saeed.

The Director of Culture in Aleppo Jaber Al-Sajour explained that the writer Walid Ikhlasi is a milestone in the history of Syrian literature and left a great deal of intellectual creativity that enriched the Arab library, and that the memorial ceremony today is to recall his creative achievements through long decades of hard work in public affairs and in the field of intellectual creativity.
The researcher, Muhammad Qajah, pointed out that the late writer left an unforgettable cultural legacy, and if he passed away, he is still a cultural stature enjoying its human, social and literary presence.
The wife of the late Dr. Rajaa Nour El-Din indicated that when she married the writer Walid Ikhlasi, she had the purest, rarest and most shining gem.
Khaled Walid Ikhlasi, son of the late, thanked all those in charge of the memorial ceremony, indicating that his father was a great family man and a continuous source of love, hope, trust, principles and human values.
The poet Mahmoud Al-Saeed pointed out that his participation in the ceremony is a token of loyalty to a symbol of Syrian literature and a landmark of the word and position, and a prominent figure of Arab culture referred to as the joy and the applause of hearts.
The memorial ceremony was attended by the deputy governor of Aleppo, Ahmed Yassin, Imad al-Din Ghadhban, head of the party's subsidiary preparation and culture office, members of the family of the late writer, and a number of writers, researchers and thinkers.
