The Thalheimer Immergrün-Schützen started their four-day celebrations on the occasion of their 125th anniversary with a big home evening on Thursday.

Maria Thalheim – First there was an appointment for a group photo on the village square in front of the pilgrimage church, where the shooters proudly presented themselves in their new club clothes and the nine Thalheim hunting horn players played properly.

Then, led by Daferlbua Andreas Flossmann and Fähnrich Franz Obermeier jun., they marched to the Festhalle to their tunes.

There was joyful applause for the festival association from the citizens and a gun salute from a delegation of Fraunberger firecrackers.

In the Stockschützenhalle, which has been redecorated as a festival hall, Mayor and patron Hans Wiesmaier skilfully tapped the first keg of Taufkirchner festival beer with just two taps, as always, and wished the event a good run.

The hunting horn players played a few more pieces before the Doiham musicians, conducted by Lambert Bart, provided music on stage.

Georg Bart wired the hall and set up loudspeakers.

Rifle champion Heidi Wegmann wished for an unforgettable party.

"The last few days have been crazy," she said.

Now she is happy that it is finally starting and thanked everyone who had recently contributed to the success with great commitment, supported by local companies.

"It was great cinema," Wegmann said.

A special thank you with great applause went to the SSV Maria Thalheim, who had made its curling hall available, and to Manfred Limmer, who had painted the stage set.

“Our fire brigade also supports us – with parking instructions and barriers.

It almost went wrong," reported Wegmann.

"The new shirts and stockings didn't arrive until the afternoon, at the last minute."

The rifle champion proudly looked back on the highlights of the past 25 years since the last festival, the 100th anniversary in 1997. Andreas Häusler won the German championship title in 2000 and was a member of the national squad for a long time.

“We were the first club in Schützengau Erding to build modern electronic shooting ranges in the basement of the rectory in 2003.

In addition, we were a sponsor club for our neighborsGemütlichkeit Oberbierbach and Waldesruh Rappoltskirchen, and in 2020 we modernized our shooting range again," said Wegmann.

Wiesmaier congratulated the shooters on their anniversary and said: "Our time needs something like that, a positive spirit.

You're all needed, because if we don't help ourselves, everything will stop." The club's name Immergrün says it all: "Continue to grow!"

Gauschützenmeister Klaus Waldherr, who has lived in the village for a year and a half, had a home game.

"It's not just the tradition that counts here, the community also counts here," he praised.

After a marathon of honor (report follows), he presented Fähnrich Obermeier with the Gau flag nail as a good omen for a successful celebration on Sunday with white sausage breakfast, church service and parade.

He himself has to pass and represent the Gau in the rifle parade at the Oktoberfest.

On Friday evening there was a wine festival, on Saturday a cabaret evening with Stefan Otto is on the agenda.
