In a short statement, Prince Andrew paid tribute to his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, who will be buried in London on Monday.
The prince, who has become an outcast since the revelations about his involvement in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, praised his mother's "unique and singular devotion (...)" to the nation as well as her role as a mother.
"Mom, your love for a son, your compassion, your tenderness, and your trust, I will forever cherish," he wrote.
“I will miss your vision, your advice and your humor,” wrote the prince.

Forever deprived of a royal role after accusations of sexual assault which he ended by paying several million dollars, Andrew, 62, is often presented as "the favorite son" of Elizabeth II, who died at 96.
But as a non-working member of the royal family, he was unable to wear military uniform for the five royal tribute ceremonies in Edinburgh, London and Windsor.

However, an exception was made for the vigil at the British Parliament, where the queen's coffin has been on display since Wednesday evening.
