Levke Kersting finally wants to fulfill her dream.

She emigrated to Zanzibar and was accompanied by "Goodbye Germany".

But she has to leave her great love behind in Germany.

Hanover – Levke Kersting (38) from Hanover is emigrating to Zanzibar with her dog Emma.

She would like to set up a bar right by the sea and is accompanied by "Goodbye Germany".

One thing makes her departure particularly difficult - three months ago, the 38-year-old fell in love with Marcel, a heating engineer from Hamburg.

While most of the German emigrants in the Vox docu-soap are drawn to Mallorca, Levke lost her heart in Zanzibar.

Four years ago she went on holiday to the African island for the first time and decided to pack her things and start a new life there.

In total, she vacationed in Zanzibar four times and fell in love with a Maasai there, with whom she was together for two years.

Her heart now belongs to Marcel from Hamburg.

Levke would like to start with a beach bar in Zanzibar, but has gotten a remote job to be on the safe side.

But Marcel doesn't make emigration easy for her.

He is "a very special person who suddenly entered my life," Levke describes him with bright eyes and a big smile.

From Germany to Switzerland

The most popular destination for German emigrants is Switzerland.

As tagesspiegel.de reports, around 309,000 German citizens moved their place of residence to the neighboring country in 2021.

"It wasn't planned that way.

I actually promised myself that I wouldn't get to know anyone before I left," explains the 38-year-old.

Levke has never sparked as much as it did with Marcel.

That makes the departure all the more painful.

"But I just promised myself that I'd do it and I have to hurt myself," the emigrant continued.

Whether Marcel will start the journey together with Levke remains uncertain.

After all, he only moved to Hamburg three years ago and has already settled in very well.

In fact, he's open to anything.

But emigrating is not one of them.

Despite love, Levke emigrated.

“But actually also because of love.

Out of self-love,” she admits to “Goodbye Germany”.

It was the first time that she was doing something just for herself.

Whether her love for Marcel will remain and whether Marcel will leave Hamburg for Levke at some point remains uncertain.

Jenny Matthias emigrated with her lover Jens Büchner, but they separated only a short time later.

In the meantime, the "Goodbye Germany" emigrant has given her heart to Achim.

He is her late friend's x-husband.
