Heritage Days were "
a success
" for the 39th edition this year, freed from restrictions due to Covid, with the opening to the public of more sites, the Ministry of Culture announced on Sunday.
For this edition, 16,000 places opened to the public against 15,000 in 2021, including 3,000 on an exceptional basis, he said in a press release.
More than 25,000 events have been organized in mainland France and overseas, including many activities dedicated to sustainable heritage, the theme of the 2022 edition.

Among the highlights, visitors were able to admire the Richelieu site of the National Library of France (BNF) in Paris, rich in 300 years of history, which has just opened to the public after twelve years of work.
They were also able to discover the use of sustainable materials, in particular for the work undertaken in the cathedral of Beauvais, which is being restored by the State.
Among the most visited places in the Paris region which welcomed around 20,000 visitors, the ministry cites the Château de Fontainebleau, the Mobilier national and the Senate - Luxembourg Palace in Paris.
In the regions, the Abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel (Manche) and the Château d'Angers (Pays de la Loire) attracted more than 10,000 visitors, according to the ministry, which does not give an overall figure for attendance.
