22 people were killed and others injured in a landslide caused by torrential rains in western Nepal.
Reuters quoted local officials as saying today, "A landslide caused by heavy rain killed 22 people and injured 10 others in the Acham district, west of the capital, Kathmandu," while rescue teams continued their work in the affected areas.
Floods and landslides occur frequently in mountainous Nepal, especially during the annual monsoon rains between June and September, where official data indicated that at least 70 people have died and 13 are missing across the country in floods and landslides this year.
