Hours of traffic jams, expensive body damage and a minor injury: These are the consequences of a rear-end collision on the A8 on Saturday, September 17th.
Otterfing – As the police announced, a 29-year-old from Brannenburg was driving her VW in the left lane towards Salzburg.
Due to traffic, she had to slow down, which the 21-year-old parcel service driver behind her noticed too late.
At the Holzkirchen rest stop, at 12:35 p.m., the man from Fürstenfeldbruck drove his Mercedes Vito into the rear of the young woman.
Her 35-year-old husband, who was in the front passenger seat, suffered minor injuries in the impact.
The material damage caused to both vehicles is estimated at a total of around 12,000 euros.
Due to the rescue work, there were sometimes massive disabilities until around 2:30 p.m.;
traffic was backed up for more than ten kilometers, so the travel time in this area took about an hour longer than usual.
In addition to the highway police, the Hofolding volunteer fire brigade was also on duty here.
