The survey was conducted during September 2022 by the Geocartography Research Institute among 512 men and women aged 18 and over, who constitute a national and representative sample of the adult population in the State of Israel.

As for the areas in which Israelis will cut back, it appears that 53% of the respondents stated that they would buy fewer products, 33% indicated that they would spend less, 32% would purchase energy-saving electrical products to save money, 28% indicated that they would not operate a dishwasher or washing machine that is not full, 14% will reduce car travel and prefer to travel by public transport, with an electric scooter or bicycle, 4% will move to a cheaper apartment, and 15% of the respondents do not intend to adopt saving habits for the new year.

The survey data shows that 74% of Israelis are considering buying a new electrical appliance for the New Year, of which 24% will purchase a vacuum cleaner, 17% a refrigerator, 16% an oven, 15% a microwave, 14% a washing machine, 12% a clothes dryer and 12% a washing machine dishes.

12% are not sure which device they will purchase.

Regarding the reasons for the purchase - 42% of the respondents answered that they are interested in upgrading the existing device to a more advanced technological device, 31% buy a new device that is not in their home, 30% change to a new device after the previous one broke down, 16% switch to a more economical device, 13% switch to devices that consume Less energy, and 12% renew with a new device due to moving house.
