With the participation of Syria, the sessions of the Education Transformation Summit continue in New York on the sidelines of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly, where the Syrian delegation participating in the summit followed the sessions and discussions of the (Solutions) day.

The work of the third day included a focus on a number of topics, including (effective educational systems, solutions for open digital content and the advancement of basic education, laying the foundations for sustainable financing, education and learning in times of emergency and protracted crises, strengthening partnerships to advance education transformation and challenging sustainable projects, the role of higher education in transformation climate and lifelong environmental education for all).

The meeting focused on the necessity of gender-transformative education from discourse to action in the Global Partnership for Education, transforming education through teacher leadership and innovation, transforming technical and vocational education and training for refugees towards a new global compact for financing education, developing and modernizing teaching methods in order to develop the skills of leaders in the private sector, and transforming education from During the radical renewal and transformation of education for sustainable development as well as the implementation of the recommendations of the open learning resources of UNESCO with the partners of important initiatives for the transformation of education in addition to the perspective of citizenship through global education and the localization of education for a sustainable future.

The day’s work concluded with a review of the results and summaries of the work of the sessions that covered the five work streams (inclusive, equitable, safe and healthy schools, education and skills for life, work and sustainable development, digital education and transformation, teachers, teaching and the teaching profession, and education financing).

The attendees stressed the importance of the statements of the countries submitted to the summit and the necessity of adhering to them in order to achieve the transformation of education.

A number of participants in the meeting also presented summaries of the importance of transforming education and the measures taken to ensure the success of the preparations for the summit, while the participating youth delegations issued a statement clarifying their demands from the leaders of their countries in the field of education transformation.

The Syrian delegation, headed by the Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabbaa, Syria's permanent representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Bassam Sabbagh, Secretary of the National Committee for UNESCO, Dr. Nidal Hassan, and Director of Planning and International Cooperation Ghassan Shgari, in addition to a youth delegation that includes the CEO of the Syrian Trust for Development Shadi Al-Alshi and President of the National Union of Syrian Students Dareen Suleiman, President of the Revolutionary Youth Union, Sumer Zaher, and the head of the Vanguards of the Baath Organization, Dr. Muhammad Ezzat Arabi Katbi.
