Twenty years ago, Jean Wittier, 73, disappeared.
Literally.
His neighbors never saw this gruff family man again who lived in a small pavilion in the garden city of Orgemont, in Argenteuil.
His body has never been found.
Accused of having killed him after a chaotic investigation, his son, Patrick, 59, was tried by the Assize Court of Val-d'Oise for murder on an ascendant and incurs life imprisonment.
He always denied the facts.
The trial is expected to last five days.
