A special police bus ensures a party mood among the Wiesn visitors on the Hackerbrücke.

The federal police in a celebratory mood?

The reason is different.

Munich – The Wiesn is always a festival of Schlager and sometimes also pop music.

In addition to beer in abundance, euphoric Oktoberfest visitors from all over the world and hard-working waiters, the respective tent band always creates a good atmosphere in the festival tent.

The Federal Police is by no means a band - and yet they also play the Wiesn hits.

The tapping day, September 17th, brought with it a euphoric Oktoberfest mood, bad weather and "beer corpses" every minute.

So you could say it's all the same.

A special bus of the Federal Police, which was on the Hacker Bridge, was also noticeable.

It was a so-called loudspeaker car.

And he played Wiesn hits like "Cordula Grün", "Der Zug hat kein Bremse" and "Hurra die Gams".

The path from the Festwiese to the S-Bahn station at the Hackerbrücke becomes an asphalt dance floor for the tired and rarely sober Wiesn visitors on their way home.

Of course, the point of the whole thing is not the musical entertainment of the Oktoberfest fans, nor does the federal police try to be a street DJ.

Rather, the music should keep people in a good mood.

Federal police belt out Wiesn hits – but not “Layla”

It is not the first year that the special bus with the special task is used.

Years ago, an officer aptly summed up its purpose: "People who dance don't fight."

So it's simply about having good-humoured people on the way home - and not a drunken crowd with violent attacks here and there.

Incidentally, the controversial hit song "Layla" will not be played.

"We're not playing that," said the head of the six-person party bus team, Michael Schreiber.

Follow the recommendations of the Wiesn landlords, who don't want to play the song either.

But that didn't quite work out, as "Layla" was played just over an hour after the opening in the Schottenhamel marquee.
