The electoral process continues in As-Suwayda Governorate, with a good and increasing turnout from citizens and amid easy procedures.

The head of the Judicial Subcommittee in As-Suwayda, Judge Counselor Farid Akwan, told SANA reporter that the electoral process continues and is going well in the electoral centers, amid a good turnout from citizens.

During a review of a number of electoral centers in different areas in the governorate, the governor of As-Suwayda, Engineer Bassam Parsik, indicated in a statement to reporters that the governorate provided all support and facilities to the Judicial Subcommittee and took all necessary measures to achieve this constitutional entitlement and to equip the centers with what is necessary to facilitate the electoral process in a smooth and successful manner.

Parsik pointed out that these elections are gaining great importance, especially in the current stage with the start of rapid work on implementing the national decentralization plan, which gives administrative units wide powers to develop and implement development and reconstruction plans and increase investments for local councils to be able to provide their services better.

In turn, the Secretary of the As-Suwayda branch of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party, Fawzat Shukair, indicated in a similar statement that the constitutional entitlement is a national right and duty for every citizen to choose their most worthy and efficient representatives for the reconstruction phase.

During the tours of SANA correspondents to a number of polling stations, citizen Wael Naim mentioned during his polling in one of the neighborhoods of the city of As-Suwayda that participation today is a national duty to choose the most qualified candidates, while citizen Hassan Jarbou pointed out that every successful candidate must perform his duty and assume his responsibilities.

As for the citizen, Adib Hatem Al-Balf, who is 70 years old, he came to exercise his electoral right, as he put it, to choose the appropriate and qualified candidate for the tasks of the next stage. To combine all efforts to overcome it, rebuild the country and improve the services provided to citizens.

While casting their votes at the College of Education, university students Rawan Saray El-Din, Laith Jammoul, Sonia Mawal and Aya Kiwan said that participating in the local council elections represents a national duty to choose the most qualified candidate capable of achieving social and economic development and improving the service reality in their areas.

In the village of Rami in the eastern countryside, the head of the electoral center at the Martyr Muti’ Al-Braihi School, Ihsan Makled, indicated that the electoral process is proceeding within a disciplined and democratic atmosphere and in the midst of a good turnout of citizens to cast their votes.
