The Health Affairs Directorate of Al-Hasakah City Council organized 14 arrests against sellers in markets, shops and popular restaurants.
The director of health affairs in the council, Basil Al-Abbawi, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the control patrols of the directorate intensified their inspection tours during the past two days and organized the seizures related to non-compliance with the health conditions for selling foodstuffs, not taking care of public hygiene, not having a health card and dealing with expired materials.
Al-Abbawi pointed out that the patrols confiscated 118 kilograms of food, including items (thyme, juice, mayonnaise, freekeh and chocolate), 45 kilograms of pickles placed in plastic barrels and 18 kilograms of meat, as they were not fit for human consumption, as they were originally destroyed and seizures were organized against violators.
