Eliakim Atzani, Chairman of the Yesha Council and a former member of the Knesset, died today (Sunday) at the age of 96. His funeral is expected to leave tomorrow at 14:00 from the funeral home to the cemetery in Hebron, where he lived.

Atzani was one of the fathers of the settlement movement in Judea and Samaria and one of the first settlers in the city together with his wife Tzipora.

The head of the Kiryat Arba-Hebron Council, Eliyahu Liebman, said that "a heavy sorrow has fallen tonight on Kiryat Arba Hebron, on Judea and Samaria and on the entire people of Israel with the passing of Advocate Eliakim Atzani."

The late Atzani was the founding fathers of the settlement, a man of leadership and kindness, a humble and humble man who always had the public's affairs at the forefront of his mind. The late Eliakim was loved by the public, a maker of peace and a unifier among publics, who kept faith with the people of Israel and the State of Israel until his last day, a very sad evening for settlement".

The head of the council of Beit El Spad as well.

"Alikim Ha'tsani was a visionary and a pioneer before the camp," he said.

"Many rights to him in blossoming the wilderness of Judea and Samaria. We lost one of the best fighters of the settlement in the Land of Israel. We will miss him greatly, but he left behind a magnificent family line that was educated in his light. May his memory be blessed."
