The thunderstorms on Wednesday left flooded streets and basements in the Upper Palatinate.
Lightning struck a roof truss, a TV show struggled with signal interference.
Grafenwoehr - There was a lot to do for the fire brigades in the Upper Palatinate on Wednesday (September 14).
The DWD had previously warned of severe weather.
A heavy rain front caused flooded streets and flooded basements on Wednesday evening.
Between 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., the police counted around 35 weather-related operations, such as the Oberpfalz police headquarters.
The district of Cham was particularly affected.

Lightning struck a roof truss in Schwandorf, which caught fire.
The damage was estimated at 100,000 euros.
So there were no injuries.
Something similar happened in Grafenwoehr.
Lightning struck a retirement home.
"Fortunately, the situation did not turn out to be quite as dramatic as it was reported," said a fire department spokesman for the
Vifogra
news agency .
"It was not an open fire, so there was no danger to the residents."

A BR TV program also had to deal with the thunderstorms.
As the BR wrote on Twitter, "because of heavy thunderstorms in Kleineibstadt" there were repeated TV signal interferences with "now red i".

The DWD is also announcing thunderstorms for Thursday and is already warning of heavy rain throughout Franconia and gusts of wind in the Alps.
