Four-digit donation for the roof: St. Nikolaus one step closer to renovation

The chapel of St. Nicholas needs to be renovated.
The Geretsried building cooperative supports the project by sponsoring two rows of shingles.
Geretsried – The Geretsried building cooperative, represented by Managing Director Wolfgang Selig, has now donated 4,200 euros for the renovation of the Saint Nicholas Chapel.
As reported, Josef Urso, the chairman of the church administration of Maria Hilf, to which St. Nicholas belongs, came up with an unusual campaign: companies and citizens can sponsor larch wood shingles for the new roof - and thus participate as sponsors in the renovation of the church .
In return, they receive a nice certificate.
"The donors are very happy about these memories," reports Florian Sachers, chairman of the interest group for the preservation of the St. Nicholas Chapel.
The housing association financed two complete rows of shingles in the lower part of the roof.
There they cost between 30 and 60 euros per piece,

On the website www.stadtkirche-geretsried.de you will find an up-to-date graphic with all the wooden roof coverings that have already found a sponsor or are still looking for a sponsor.
Around 800 of 1077 pieces are still available.
According to Urso, donations are welcome even without specifying the shingle numbers.
