In Lyon
While calls for the extinction of digital advertising screens are emerging in France, the subject is timely.
The future local intermunicipal advertising regulations (RLPi) of Grand Lyon, voted on June 27, will be submitted to citizens on Monday as part of a one-month public inquiry.
In the 59 municipalities of the metropolis, the text intends to tighten the screw on advertising and signs in the public space.
The grievances of the environmentalist majority with regard to the sector are known:
"incitement to overconsumption, visual
pollution, light pollution
"
, lists Philippe Guelpa-Bonaro, vice-president of the metropolis of Lyon in charge of the reduction of advertising.
Without forgetting the leitmotif of the new school year: their energy consumption.
In concrete terms, the regulation provides for banning digital advertising screens, limiting permanent commercial tarpaulins, reducing the number of advertising panels by around two-thirds and limiting their size to 4 m2.
