Twice on the first Wiesn evening: Trains heading to Munich Central Station had to initiate braking at the Hacker Bridge.

Otherwise they would have caught Wiesn visitors.

Munich – That went well again.

Deutsche Bahn regional trains had to initiate emergency braking twice on their way to Munich Central Station.

Oktoberfest visitors apparently crossed the tracks at the Hackerbrücke stop.

According to the federal police, the first incident happened around 6:30 p.m.

A 21-year-old from Ireland trudged across several tracks coming from the Theresienwiese area.

On the first day of Oktoberfest there was the first "beer corpse" at 2:07 p.m.

In the evening, the ambulance filled up with drunk people every minute.

Wiesn visitors on the tracks: the train prevents a collision by braking

A collision with a regional train could only be avoided because the engine driver reacted quickly and initiated braking.

"By stopping the train, a collision could be avoided."

A very similar incident happened four hours later.

An Italian also came from the Oktoberfest grounds and, according to the police, crossed all the tracks that were in the dark – almost to the Hacker Bridge.

The way around was obviously too slow for him.

“DB security staff used a flashlight to warn a train driver who was about to brake quickly.” A collision was again avoided in this way.

Investigations initiated into dangerous intervention in rail traffic

The federal police did not provide any information as to whether the two Wiesn visitors were drunk.

With the dangerous actions, however, it seems likely.

In both cases, the officials initiated investigations into dangerous interventions in rail traffic.
