25 years ago, Anicet Mutonkole-Muyombi was ordained a priest in his native Congo.

He has been the pastor of Grafing since 2015 - the small town has grown dear to him.

Grafing – The Catholic community in Grafing took a large part in the 25th anniversary of their pastor yesterday, Sunday.

It was not just about celebrating the patron saint's day, but also about Father Anicet Mutonkole-Muyombi, who, as already reported, was ordained a priest in 1997 in his Congolese homeland.

The festive service in the parish church of St. Ägidius, which was enriched by African musicians, was impressively different.

While the service was still going on, in light rain, parish helpers set up everything for a champagne reception on the forecourt.

And in the neighboring rectory, preparations were underway for a festival in honor of the 57-year-old Grafing pastor.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Ebersberg newsletter.)

There it was parish council chairman Andreas Heidenreich who welcomed an almost full hall with over 200 guests.

Many other parishioners followed him as well-wishers.

Among other things, Peter Rothmoser spoke for the church administration and Josef Rothmoser for the Straußdorf Catholics.

Greetings from the Adventist Church were conveyed by Heidemarie Klingeberg.

Mayor Christian Bauer congratulated on behalf of the city of Grafing.

Pastor Mutonkole-Muyombi stands for continuity and stability - and thus for two virtues that are found less and less these days, says Bauer.

Visibly excited and moved, the celebrant accepted the warm words.

He is grateful and full of joy, says the pastor, who has been responsible for Grafing and Straußdorf since 2015, united here in a parish association.

In his valued humorous way, he called his first German pastorate in Planegg his first wife.

“Nevertheless, I said: I have to take a look at Grafing.

And now Grafing is my second wife, so to speak.”
