The turnout of citizens in Aleppo governorate continues to participate in the local council elections, which began at seven in the morning and will continue until seven in the evening.

A member of the Judicial Subcommittee in Aleppo, Judge Counselor Salah Al-Ashqar, said in a statement to SANA reporter that all the necessary preparations have been completed, the boxes have been prepared and the required papers and supplies have been provided, including lists of candidates for all electoral districts, and the boxes have been handed over to the police units and delivered to electoral centers in the city and the countryside.

He explained that the number of electoral centers reached 1,066, and 3 electoral centers were established in Idlib Governorate in each of the Suleiman Al-Khater School in Salah Al-Din, Ahmed Tawfiq Malik School in Al-Hamdaniya, and in the Presidency of Aleppo University, explaining that the number of electoral districts in Aleppo governorate reached 183 electoral districts, including 15 for the Council. The governorate has 5 districts in the city and 10 districts in the countryside. The Aleppo City Council includes 5 electoral districts. The number of electoral districts for administrative units is 163 districts within the governorate’s countryside, comprising 24 cities, 119 towns, and 20 municipalities.

And at the electoral center in the Municipal Palace, the head of the first electoral district center, Ahmed Hamza, said that the ballot boxes had been prepared since the early morning and equipped with the necessary materials. They were opened to the competent committee and the candidates’ agents, and then closed to begin the voting process, where the voter is handed over.

The list he chooses and enters the secret room to register his chosen candidates and then deposit the envelope inside the box, noting the facilities provided to voters for the ease of the voting process, as it was noted that the good turnout and citizens flocked to exercise their electoral right.

SANA's camera monitored the opinions of a number of citizens who voted, as Ahmed Aqeel said: He chose a number of candidates who are the most efficient to represent him in the local administration councils with the aim of contributing to the reconstruction and building of what was destroyed by terrorism.

Ahmed Al-Qadi pointed to the facilities provided and the organization of the voting process, as he exercised his electoral right by choosing his representative of good reputation and competence to be able to convey the demands and concerns of citizens and participate in the development process and nation building.

Muhammad Khalif said that he attended the polling box early in the morning and chose his representative in all transparency for the local administration councils, to participate in the advancement of the service reality of the neighborhoods, to convey the voices of their people to decision makers and to improve their reality in various fields.

Engineer Samar Hanifa explained that she cast her electoral vote in order to reinforce the principle of democracy and choose the right person to represent citizens in the local administration councils, expressing her hope to achieve more good for Aleppo and Syria and to rebuild them again.
