About two years after millions of fans shared in the pain of Chrissy Teigen, who revealed at the time that she had a silent birth, the model and network host revealed that the abortion she had in the fifth month was actually a termination of pregnancy - which she had to undergo in order to save her own life.
The 36-year-old Tegan, who is currently in an advanced pregnancy, revealed the painful truth over the weekend, which is different from the one she published in real time.
The reason for the abortion?
The fetus that was then in her womb had no chance of survival, and this was the only way to save her.
"Then I told everyone we had a miscarriage because that's really what I believed it was, but it was a miscarriage. We're heartbroken but also grateful. It took me over a year to figure it out," she tweeted to her 13 million followers on Twitter.

"Two years ago, when I was pregnant with Jack (the name she and her husband, the musician John Legend, planned to give the child, ah), I had to make many difficult and heartbreaking decisions.
After I was already halfway through the pregnancy, it was clear that the fetus would not survive, and neither would I, not without medical intervention," she wrote. She shared about the medical care she received and how much she was surrounded by the support and love of her family members, friends and strangers alike, after their private loss became to the public
"Let's just call it by its name - it was an abortion. An abortion that saved my life, with a baby that had no chance of survival," she wrote.
She added to the book that she realized what really happened to her only after the US Supreme Court overturned last June the ruling "Roe v. Wade" which allowed women to perform abortions throughout the US.

Teagan said that she shared with her husband the sympathy she felt for those who were forced to have an abortion, which made her realize that she was in fact one of those women.
"I kept quiet. I felt strange that I didn't realize it myself," she admitted.
"I told the world that we had an abortion, the world agreed that we had an abortion, the headlines announced that we had an abortion. I was frustrated that I didn't say from the beginning what it really was and I felt stupid that it took me more than a year to realize that we had an abortion."
As expected, Tegan's tweet caused an uproar online - and received tens of thousands of comments.
Some supported her, but many attacked her with harsh criticism claiming that she published the things due to her desire to seek more publicity.
There were those who made it worse and even wrote that she was guilty of murder, and claimed that she was a liar and manipulative.
"I knew it would happen, and honestly I've already seen you at your peak," she addressed all the commenters who came out against her.
"If it makes you feel better, great. It doesn't make me feel worse."
