The Oktoberfest in Munich is on. The expensive price of beer does not deter Wiesn visitors - much to the incomprehension of many people.

The Oktoberfest in Munich is on.

The expensive price of beer does not deter Wiesn visitors - much to the incomprehension of many people.

Munich - "O'zapft is!" Since Saturday, September 17 at 12 noon, the Wiesn has officially opened.

Mayor Dieter Reiter needed three hits to tap the hole.

Since then, the beer has flowed freely at the Oktoberfest.

Oktoberfest in Munich - beer price at the Wiesn increased

This year, however, visitors to Munich will have to dig deeper into their pockets than usual for their measure.

Corona, the Ukraine war and inflation are not only increasing the prices for accommodation, but also the beer prices in the festival tents.

Compared to the last Wiesn in 2019, the prices have increased by 10 to 20 percent.

Here you can find an overview of the 2022 beer prices in the festival halls.

Wiesn: "The beer price is perverse" - criticism of Oktoberfest prices

This again caused discussions on Twitter on the first Wiesn weekend: “The beer price alone is perverse.

Anyone who pays 13 euros for the Mass is apparently still doing too well,” says someone in view of the current crises.

"I don't drink a beer for the price of a crate.

I'm not crazy," says another person in a similar way.

"More than 2 euros for a liter of petrol, but let the liter of beer cost 14 euros at the Wiesn," writes a man with a face-palm smiley.

Oktoberfest in Munich: "The rabble wants to drink the most expensive beer of all time!"

"The rabble wants to drink the most expensive beer of all time!" writes someone sarcastically.

"When the mineral oil companies see that millions of Germans are happy to pay six times the price for beer, petrol will soon cost 8.99 euros," fears another person.

“In Cologne I can get a whole crate of Bavarian wheat beer for the price of a pint of beer... 24 bottles, i.e. 12 litres.

Even from the breweries that rip off the guests in Munich!” someone loudly criticizes.

"When idiots run into a cold, wet tent for badly poured beer and also want to eat completely overpriced food, which they can get in the restaurant for half the price.

Then the madness is called Oktoberfest”, someone expresses his opinion on the Wiesn.

Expensive Oktoberfest: "The price is okay"

But not everyone has something to complain about the beer price: “The price is ok, in the pub or in Disse you also pay between 3€-5€ for a 0.33l bottle of beer, i.e. between 12€-15€ for a liter ' says someone.

A second person adds: "And always gossip about the price of beer.

1 l approx. €13.80.

But in clubs you pay 7 or 8€ for a 0.33l beer.

You notice it yourself, don't you?"
