A business coach tried in Paris for sexual assault and scams

The accused Mathieu J. must appear with his partner for having, according to the prosecution, imposed by "violence, coercion, threat or surprise" on vulnerable people.


A coach who offered professional development workshops for individuals in Paris has been on trial since Monday, September 19 in Paris for sexual assault and scams against 74 of his clients, mainly women, between 2014 and 2017.

Founder in 2009 of the Peauzdétente space, specializing in professional support, Mathieu J., 45, offered his clientele - mainly women aged around 40 returning to work - sessions pressing hypnosis.

According to the prosecution, these sessions then turned to personal development and tantrism, a practice from the Hindu religion combining yoga and sexuality.

One of them, Sofia B., 44, testified on Monday.

Questioned in turn, Mathieu J. denies his version of the facts and speaks of a consensual sexual relationship.

The coach is also sent back to court for "

scams

" to the detriment of his clients and "

fraudulent maneuvers

" against the staff of the center in which he worked.

His partner Dounia O., 42, appears alongside him for the same reasons.

She does not recognize the facts of fraud, but pleads for breaches on one or two plaintiffs.

The trial is due to last until September 26.
