A Pennsylvania pizzeria, known for being featured on the sitcom

, sued a customer who left a $3,000 tip and then asked for it back.
"It's a bit irritating, it's causing absurdities and drama," Zachary Jacobson, manager of Alfredo's Pizza Cafe restaurant in the city of Scranton, told local news station WNEP.
Last June, a customer identified as Eric Smith left waitress Mariana Lambert a $3,000 tip for a $13 dinner.
Alfredo's managers say they didn't believe the payment was real until the customer's credit card was charged, praising the generosity.
Smith, who had ordered only a plate of stromboli, explained that he had left the tip as part of a social media trend called
Tips For Jesus
.
"It really meant a lot to me because we're all going through a lot," the waitress said at the time, "it really touched my heart. I still can't believe it, I'm still in shock."

"A little over a month ago, we received in the mail that Eric was disputing the tip charge he left," restaurant manager Zachary Jacobson explained last week.
They contacted the customer hoping it was a misunderstanding, because the restaurant had already paid the waitress the money.
"We thought someone was really trying to do something good," the manager said, "and now here we are, three months later, not even, with nothing."
The client stopped responding to his messages through the social network Facebook, so they decided to sue him.

"Unfortunately, we had to press charges because now we're out of this money," the manager explained, "he told us to sue him, so that's what we're going to end up doing."

Jacobson hopes there is enough evidence for a judge to rule in his favor, but that doesn't change the fact that he is defrauded: "I hope he owns up to his actions and comes forward and pays for this."
