An earthquake of magnitude 7.5 shook the central coast of the Mexican Pacific on Monday and set off a seismic alarm in the country's capital, forcing all its buildings to be evacuated.
So far the damage caused by the tremor is unknown, which occurred at 1:05 pm local time, according to the United States Geological Survey, 41 kilometers from La Placita de Morelos, in the state of Michoacán.
A tsunami warning was issued in the area by the National Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA, for its acronym in English).
