In the meantime, the products on the shelves are produced in other factories, including bitter cow chocolate, quarter to seven and nut chocolate in a package of three packs, time out and fun fun sticks and more.

At Strauss, they say that the factory's return to production was made possible after a thorough cleaning operation and a significant investment in infrastructure at the two production sites that are responsible for the production of Elite sweets.

The company resumed production after adjustments were made to the production processes and quality control in the two factories it owns.

The company is increasing the scope of quality tests on all raw materials, production batches and the work environment, in order to ensure compliance with a high standard of quality and food safety.

In addition, a few days ago a mezuzah was established in a festive ceremony at the gates of the factory that recently returned to production.

The rabbi of Nof HaGilil Rabbi Yeshayahu Herzl of Israel established the mezuzah with Deputy Mayor Alex Gadelkin by his side.

On behalf of the Strauss management, the group's chairman Ofra Strauss, the group's CEO Giora Bar Dea, Eyal Dror and the CEO of the sweets division Tal Ben-Forat were present at the ceremony. We are building an infrastructure of excellence here based on the knowledge we have gained at home and while learning together on the way. If there is one area in which we are going to be leaders It's food safety. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our employees for everything you have done so that we can return to your life as soon as possible and I wish everyone a happy and successful new year."

At the end of April, the factory was closed after salmonella was discovered in a number of snacks, which led to a huge recall of a variety of Strauss products and their removal from the shelves.

The company then announced the stoppage of the plant's activity until the fault was found and all the defects repaired.

In a press conference they held at the beginning of the case at Strauss, Strauss Israel CEO Eyal Dror said at the time that in their estimation, three pigeons that entered the liquid chocolate production plant while renovations were being carried out were probably the source of the contamination in the production line.

Last August, the Strauss food company published financial reports according to which there was a 58% decrease in the company's net profit in the second quarter of the year following the huge recall.

The net profit for the quarter amounted to NIS 55 million compared to NIS 130 million in the corresponding quarter last year.
